17_Motherhood Moments
Take care of tantrums, talk of truth; / Such a short time to shape our youth.
Ripped from my sleep by baby screams, I'd just fallen asleep, it seems. Bid farewell to my peaceful dreams; Welcome the first of the sunbeams. Nurse the baby, relish his gaze; Send up words of wonder and praise. Hear thump-thuds as the big one plays; Pray for strength to face harder days. In God's presence, a taste of rest, But it's time to get us all dressed, Read a story, then eat breakfast, And tidy up our cozy nest. Linger as we learn from God's word; Marvel at the stories we've heard And the miracles that occurred. Plead for faith to serve, undeterred. Head outside to play and explore; Help the neighbor finish a chore; Forage fruits, nuts, berries, and more, 'Til we return to our front door. Inside, we have lunch to prepare; My helpers climb up on a chair, Leaving trails of toys everywhere - One day, such moments will be rare. Bellies are full, now they can sleep. I hope the kids don't make a peep, Because I have a date to keep With Him who lifts me from the deep. Too soon, my soothing soul-care ends, But I now know peace that trancends To teach them how to make amends When they act more like foes than friends. Afternoon blurs into night As we craft, bake, and take delight In the taste of dinner's first bite; Wash up, pray, sing, turn off the light. In the midst of all the to-dos: Soak in the giggles and the coos; Don't forget to frequently use Kisses, cuddles, and I love yous.

This was such a beautiful poem about making the day to day mothering so beautiful. I have struggled so much with this and I love how you framed this. It gave me a healthy challenge but also some hope. Thank you so much for sharing🤍
